Our History
For over 25 years, the Atlanta Metro Chapter of the Norfolk State University Alumni Association has remained committed to upholding the Spartan spirit across the State of Georgia.
Through community service, student support, and purposeful engagement, the Chapter continues to make a meaningful and lasting impact—strengthening alumni connections and fostering pride in our shared legacy.
Founded on December 3, 1988, the Atlanta Metro Chapter was established by a dedicated group of Norfolk State University alumni who sought to unite fellow Spartans in the greater Atlanta area. Their vision laid the foundation for a strong, engaged network that continues to thrive today.
The Chapter was reactivated in 1998.
The purpose of the Association shall be to organize the alumni of Norfolk State University to develop and promote the educational objectives and activities of Norfolk State University by providing an organization through which alumni of the University may:
- Provide financial support to Norfolk State University.
- Assist the University in its efforts to obtain public and private support.
- Assist the University in recruitment and retention of students, and the development of career opportunities, aided by the awarding of scholarships to deserving and needy students.
- Communicate with alumni and friends in support of the University.
